Sica home       thursday in chicago         Cleveland

Greetings from Chicago

John Trish and Brian drove to Chicago on a short baseball stadium tour.  They arrived on Tuesday after an all night drive split nicely by the three.  Staying at the Hard Rock in downtown Chicago, they were centrally located and got in some nice sight-seeing.  The downtown skyline is magnificent, as well as the great lake, river walk and Grant Park where they listened to the Philharmonic play.
What would Wednesday night be without volleyball for the Sica's?  they tracked down a Chicago league and tried to recruit new players.
Trish and John went down to have a drink in the Hard Rock Hotel bar but it was too fancy for them.  So they took a walk in search of a beer and stumbled upon the House of Blues.  the atmosphere inside was awesome, what we expected from the Hard Rock and didn't get.  We got some great spinach/artichoke dip and a few beers.  The music in the place was great but it was too early for live music.
It was a beautiful sunny day so a walk along the lake with some funnel cake was in order.
Riverwalk is still in the developmental stage but has great potential.
Grant Park is like a botanical garden, beautiful flowers surrounded by the great skyline
Some interesting architecture including this boardwalk.
O'Brien's in the Riverwalk.

Cubs Game - Cubs win 12-0 and Wrigley crowd went wild.  It was great to see the old stadium and the faithful crowd.  We took the subway there, the red line which was fun.  the atmosphere around the stadium was exciting and they had some great shirts dissing the White Sox, the Packers, the Brewers and anyone else they hate.
A bar we went to before the game.  the people were great fun, let's hope tomorrow when we see the Yankees vs. White sox they like us.

We were supposed to go up on this rooftop but we couldn't find the owner who was a friend of a friend of a friend, Tom Daglisch.
