It was a pleasure working with Theo. I'd say he was one of a kind. He was very quiet some days but always a very active cop, he kept me moving. Teddy had a quality that made us love him. Never heard a bad word uttered about him. I would call him Oscar the grouch when he was in a bad mood but that passed. He will be missed by so many. RIP Theo. Your pal, Paul Dwenger -

My deepest condolences to the entire Sica family. I first met Teddy when he was in the NYPD.I got the opportunity to work with Teddy when he was an investigator in the Brooklyn DA's squad and I was a detective in the Sexual Exploitation of Children Unit. We were prosecuting a pretty bad guy in Brooklyn who had hurt many children over many years. Teddy brought so much knowledge & experience to the investigation. His diligence & hard work helped to bring this shameless perpetrator to justice & to be given a very long sentence of over one hundred years. Teddy had such great qualities that included natural leadership capability, confidence & tenaciousness that made him very successful in his work & his life. He always spoke so highly of his wife, sons & family. He loved his Yankees dearly. Teddy was a true gentleman. Rest in eternal peace Teddy

Teddy was known throughout the District Attorneys' Offices as a true gentleman, a cop's cop. He was a man with few enemies and many, many friends. The way he lived inspired many young detectives and that was probably the greatest tribute we can give to him. On behalf of our entire Executive Board I wish Teddy's family true peace in knowing how well he was loved and respected by everyone who he came into contact with. So sorry for your loss. Teddy was my mentor when I was a young RIP sergeant and even when I was a LT across the hall in Special Victims. He gave me so much good advice. He had such a nice way about him. He was a great leader, cop, and person. Ted spoke so highly of his wife and was so proud of his boys. Glad to read about the grandchildren. He must have adored them. Thoughts and prayers, Laurie (and Kevin) Unick

To the Sica Family, I am very sorry for your lost, Teddy was my Supervisor and good friend in the DA's Office. He guided and taught me everything I know about being a great Detective. Teddy was the person that pushed me to be a better me. I remember the first time I made Teddy a Carrot Cake. He was like a lttle kid in a candy store. After that day Every Thanksgiving I made sure Teddy and his wife had a Carrot Cake. I miss your laugh and I miss your kind words. Please be strong Sica Family because that is what Teddy would want. He was a great man and I was so lucky just to say I knew him. God Bless you, he will be missed. Nicole

A great man, a great cop, a tremendous boss, and a real leader! As a young man, and a young cop all I aspired to do was to work for and with Teddy. To have him want you on his team, was the ultimate compliment. Teddy touched so many lives, and provided encouragement and guidance unselfishly. He gave me some of the best advice I could have ever received...on more than one occasion that I still pass on to others. A mild mannered gentleman who understood what real leadership consisted of, and he walked the walk every day without a moments hesitation. I am a better man for knowing you Ted. "you're the man, bud" Rest in peace, and my condolences to his family. Bill Williams retired, 71 precinct

One would be hard pressed to find a kinder, friendlier or more even tempered person than Teddy. Always a smile and a "hey buddy" when he would see you. Always there for you if you needed guidance or just wanted to chat. The way he conducted himself during his career and in his heroic battle with his illness is an inspiration to all. God bless you and your family, Teddy.
