Things to do in Rincon

John tries a pick up line on a local Puerto Rican native.  It didn't work and John fell off the board shortly thereafter.
Back To Work

John is back in the saddle after his New Mexico hiatus with the great George Martin.  John has worked on a few movies in the past two weeks, including one with Natalie Portman, New York I Love You, and for the next six weeks he will be driving this truck for a movie entitled "Motherhood" starring Uma.  This is an electrical truck complete with a giant generation mounted behind the cab, and in front of the box.

Family Get Together

Family get together at Tricie's was a fun time as Ronnie Danny and Jill along with Avery visited for the weekend of May 3rd. Johnny, Rita, Teddy and Liz stopped by.  Avery looks great and is a lot of fun to play with. Sunday was even better as little Ted and his crew came by.
Doctor Sica Prescribes Relief

The Tiki Bar hosted the Ranger - Penguin series and John had to provide relief by prescibing  7 millimeters of Jameson's Irish Whiskey every 40 minutes, and 10 millimeters of Jack Daniels as needed.  Danny, Burto, Tuna, Tom Ford, Tom Ford Jr., Greg Tracey, Greg's friend, Ohagan and Trish were on hand at various times.

Poker Regular Season Ends
James Overtakes Tommy D. For Cup
In the years final matchup James proved once again why he is the best player at the Sica Sands, winning for the third time in '07.  This victory made him the overwhelming favorite to win the Tournament of Champions later this month, as he will start with a 600 to 200 chip advantage.  Tommy D. got knocked out earlier than usual to relinquish his lead, but he is still a two time champion and has 400 chips for the big tournament.  More details and final standings will be forthcoming in Poker.

Tiki Going Strong with Winterization

The summer never ends at the Tiki Bar.  With construction completed and a little propane, the Tiki Bar has been the host of many fall and winter parties.  Football Sundays have been rocking, and even a New Years Eve, impromptu gathering have kept the Tiki bar a year round escape.  A video of a sample Sunday will be available soon on this site
Tiki.
Rita and John Escape to New Hampshire Lake

Taking advantage of the late summer, John and Rita enjoyed two splendid days on an undisclosed lake in early October.  The temperatures were in the 80's and the leaves were colorful.  John's friend Roy was gracious enough to lend John and Rita his lake front house.  Some amusing moments were when the Garmin GPS Navigator sent them down a mountain road that was right out of a Jeep commerical for two miles of rock climbing and swamp driving.  John rooting for the Yankees in some New England bars didn't go over too well either, but it was all in good nature.  For more pictures click here: New Hampshire
Vegas Baby!
Trish, Kenny, Brian, John and Rita escaped to Vegas for five days in September.  John and Rita won some nice change and a good time was had by all.  The pools were great, roller coasters, gambling, partying, etc.  For more pictures click here: Vegas '07

August 24th, 2007 - Rockaway
Mikey's last day of summer before heading back to UAlbany.  John and Mikey had a great day riding in some great waves, playing a classic whiffle ball game, and having an all around great father son day.  Put away the "Cats in the Cradle" record for another year.
Mikey ponders his future far from the beach.

August 31, 2007
At a party for Brian's birthday, things got a little blurry.  Kenny and TJ were doing shotgun bottles of beer.
August 25th, 2007 Coney Island -
Tommy, John, Rita, Young Tom, Mary, Christine and half of Rockaway went to Coney Island to watch the AVP Women's finals.  As usual Misty May and Kerry Walsh won in two games.  Afterwards, at Peggy O'Neill's John tried to get Misty May to join his team in Rockaway for the '08 season.  See other photos below.  Misty is in the center between Chris and Tom.

Summer Work Finally Over!
If you've been wondering where I've been, if I've left the country or what, you are close to right.  This summer I've been working on a film for HBO called "Taking Chance".  With 16 hour days on average I was gone for half of the volleyball season and other important events.  Such as my 50th birthday, and my 27th wedding anniversary.  Tiki activity was at a halt as well as Rockaway Sands Casino card games.  But I am happy to report I am back to enjoy whatever summer days are left.
Yankees - Orioles at Camden.

Sean, Mikey and John went to Baltimore to see the Yanks lose a tough one against the Orioles.  It was a great time anyway, Sean's first trip to Camden.  The Yankees had a late rally to make it close, but the big story was A-Rod failed to hit number 500 for us.  He was on deck when the game ended.
Trish Graduates Stoney Brook!
In a quick and beautiful ceremony, Trish graduated with a Bachelor of Science after four years of hard work and parties.  For more pictures from the ceremony and the subsequent Tiki party click here:  Trish

Built a flower box to add some ambience to the Tiki Bar.  Me and Mike mounted it on the old porch polls behind the deck.

Daily Reading
Don't have time to attend mass?  Take a few minutes to read the gospel.

April 16th
Gospel

Jn 12:44-50

Jesus cried out and said,
“Whoever believes in me believes not only in me
but also in the one who sent me,
and whoever sees me sees the one who sent me.
I came into the world as light,
so that everyone who believes in me might not remain in darkness.
And if anyone hears my words and does not observe them,
I do not condemn him,
for I did not come to condemn the world but to save the world.
Whoever rejects me and does not accept my words
has something to judge him: the word that I spoke,
it will condemn him on the last day,
because I did not speak on my own,
but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and speak.
And I know that his commandment is eternal life.
So what I say, I say as the Father told me.”

Saratoga Jazz Festival 30th Anniversary
SPAC June 23, 2007-
After a long hiatus from the festival, John and Rita headed back to the Jazz Fest for a great weekend of friends and music.  Louie's brother Dave graciously welcomed some of the festival goers into his beautiful home.  The music of Jean Luc Ponte, Tower of Power and others was the background for the usual madness.  The group of 15 representing the SI Boyz, the Burnouts and the Upstate Crew partied all day and night.  The weather was perfect and the beer was cold.  Danny and Ivy also made a return appearance after a long hiatus.  For more pictures click here: Saratoga 07
SICA'S ON MORNING NEWS!
June 22, 2007- Coney Island
The First Family of volleyball kicked off the summer on the CW11 morning news show, live from Coney Island with host Larry Hoff.  He was a nice guy and we had some laughs with him.  Mike stole the show when he stuffed a Nathan's hot dog in his mouth for the camera.  Click here to see it.
